I want to start landscaping my front yard and was thinking of making a raised garden bed for flowers and such, but I also want to plant out some trees or shrubs(maximum height 3-4 metres or about 9-12 foot) that are able to cope with soil that is waterlogged from living in a low-lying area.
Any suggestions as to what may be suitable?

My front yard is pretty much always water-logged and nothing(other than grass) grows well in it, so I was thinking of making a raised garden bed. Roughly how high should I make it and would I still need to remove the grass growing under it?

I would like to make a raised garden bed. The place I would need to put it though is filled with weeds and brush. I plan on digging everything out, but am concerned about the soil, that the brush will just grow back. Not sure if I can use a pesticide because I plan to grow vegetables…
So…I’d like to put a bottom it. But can I? It will be just set on the ground. How deep should my box be to ensure my veggie grow right (roots and all)?

Last year, after I had already planted my garden I stumbled upon a site that had a built in program where you told it how big of a garden bed you had, chose the veggies you wanted, and it helped you build a garden with your space, automatically determining where to plant, and the number of each plant you should have.

I can not for the LIFE of me, find this program now, and I am trying to plan my 4×4 raised bed which is drastically smaller than last years garden!

Does anyone know of a site like this they can link? I’ve been googling for over an hour!

I am digging out my garden bed and it’s full of old roots. They’re almost hairy, full of dirt and quite matted. Can I compost these roots? I don’t know what kind of roots they are since this bed I’m digging out was just hardened dirt before I moved into this place. And I can’t really afford to build a raised bed, so any help would be great.

Two sizes of concrete blocks are being used to build a raised garden bed for strawberries. The first kind
of block is 8 inches long and the second is 20 inches long. A row of the shorter blocks is laid on top of a
row of the longer blocks. Using only whole blocks, what is the shortest length for which the two rows
of blocks are equally long?

I have two garden bed’s that run east to west 22 feet long. I wanted to plant sunflowers but I do not want to put the rest of the garden in the shade. Should I put the sunflowers on the east or west side?

In front of my house I would like make a raised garden bed to grow veggies. Right now there are ton of weeds right where I want it. I pulled the weeds a while ago, but they always come back. What can I spray on them or do so that I can grow vegetables with damaging their health/growth? I have leafy (almost tree-like, lol) weeds and large other kinds. I am going to try to upload a pic, but I dont know if it has the option or not though…

I need to mulch a garden bed to keep down the weeds, but I don’t want to kill off the pretty pink peonies that pop up every year…should I just put down a thinner layer?

I made a raised vegetable garden bed and am lining the bottom with that black weed control fabric. How many inches of soil should I cover it with so that my vegetables roots have plenty of room?
