Here’s a summary of what I did to prepare the soil for the raised beds in my new greenhouse, along with a look at the current layout. It’s really starting to come together. Needless to say, I’m very proud of the results.

Part 3 of the raised bed expansion. This last bed in built into a deeper sloping hill. Next year I will need to add another layer (2 x 6 board) on top of the two layers I built this year. I want and think I need to in order to keep the grass out of the bed. My goal for 2011 is 500 lbs of vegetables. In 2011 I grew 175 lbs from 73 square feet of garden. This year the garden will be 188 square feet.

PENNY REH goes for a trip to her local home depot hardware store, entering at the nursery section, to look for materials to grow her own food . She is all into building raised beds and putting in her own organic veggie crops, just look ho excited she is to grow her own greens!!!!!!!! don’t forget to take your pup in on errands whenever you can , they love it!

(Had to re-upload) I took this video a few weeks ago and need to do another because things have changed a lot since. I pulled most of the overgrown spring onions and planted various things in their place. Everything is growing so fast, recently I had to harvest some of the radishes and some of the newer spring onions. The peas are climbing and well….things are on the move! 3/11

How to build a raised bed garden for vegetable production, with a materials list and the amount of food servings the bed can produce. An online calculator computes the food servings that can be produced from the food garden planned by the gardener. The poster shows what should be planted in the spring, summer, and fall growing season.
